I have always been curious about the world around me. How things work and why they do what they do. As I got older I wanted to understand why humans behave the way we do, what causes and drives our actions and our place within this world.

Mushrooms found me at a very young age and I was captivated by them! Something about them was so magical and childlike. I still light up whenever I see them while on a walkabout, on clothing, in art, basically anything to do with mushrooms, I love! I guess it's safe to say I'm a *Mycophile.

A photo of Ileah Taylor, a passionate mycophile, taken while foraging, holding up a mushroom that had just been found.

The more I developed an interest in mycology I found there was a specific type of mushroom that had profound effects in the way we view ourselves and our world. Since that time, I have dedicated my life to understanding myself and the world I live in by having a relationship with this beautiful tool.

I believe this organism can help understand our connection to this world. It can aid in dissecting trauma and arrange the pieces allowing for a deeper understanding of ourselves. Have the ability to connect with others, and bring us into alignment with the world we live and our authentic self.

I have been working with this medicine for 15 years. During my time with this teacher, I have found education is the biggest missing factor in todays society here in the U.S. We are rediscovering all that this organism offers. I have dedicated this last year to creating workshops to deepen our knowledge, understanding and most of all building relationships with fungi. I invite you to join me on this journey into the world of mushrooms!

With love-

Ileah Taylor
